“The Kaces products I have used are fantastic. High quality, durable and super affordable.”
Dominic Fragman is a percussionist and perpetual student of the arts. He has studied drumming and composition under master drummer, Paul F. Murphy and iconic pianist, Dr. Cecil Taylor. He also recorded recently with renown bebop pianist Larry Willis (Jackie McLean, Dizzy Gillespie, Lee Morgan, Wynton Marsalis) as part of the sessions for an upcoming Murphy/Willis release.
The lineage and endeavors of Murphy, Taylor and Willis culminate in affiliations with iconic leaders in the arts including Gene Krupa, Louie Bellson, Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Lee Morgan, Miles Davis, Rashied Ali, Jimmy Lyons, Salvador Dali and Joan Miro. To honor Paul Murphy's musicianship and achievements, Oxford University Press appointed Fragman to author an entry on Murphy for the latest edition of the Grove Dictionary of American Music.
Fragman works to assimilate and disseminate knowledge of the tradition and modern concepts as shared with him by masters of the arts like Murphy, Taylor and Willis. He has toured with Sony/Okeh saxophonist James Brandon Lewis and is a Regal Tip Calato, Kaces and Wicked Chops artist. He has performed at the Jazz and Wine of Peace Festival, Salerno Jazz Festival, So What’s Next Festival, Madrid Jazz Festival and the Jamboree Jazz Club Festival. He is also an active clinician and lecturer focusing on composition, improvisation and innovation. What’s Up Magazine writes, “He is the next generation of trailblazing drummers and pushes the boundaries of rhythm exploring music from all angles with his instrument and free spirit.”
